In 2014, the U.S. Senate declared Saint Louis the Chess Capital of the United States!
We are proud to partner with the Saint Louis Chess Club (STLCC) & the World Chess Hall of Fame, both of which are located in the Central West End neighborhood – next door & across the street from the original Kingside Diner. The STLCC contains a tournament hall, broadcasting studio, and a variety of places to play chess, as well as offering classes & one-on-one lessons with some of the best players. The World Chess Hall of Fame hosts world-class exhibits that explore the connection of chess to art, culture, and history. In front of the Hall of Fame (and pictured above) stands the world’s largest chess piece!
